When it comes to shortening coat sleeves, we have two options. You can shorten both from the crown (shoulder) and from the edge of the sleeve. Working from the shoulder allows you to keep the details of the cuffs or overlays, as well as the original pattern and proportions of the coat or jacket.
We can narrow or “shorten” the shoulders of the coat for a more comfortable fit, add padding to accentuate the shape, or even smooth out a drooping shoulder. A “square neck” or row of extra fabric in the back neck area can be eliminated by simply embroidering the back neck and shoulder seams, removing the excess fabric and re-sewn like the original for a more comfortable fit.
Coat lining is also our speciality. If the lining of your jacket or coat is worn out, we can replace it with a color close to the original, or we can replace it with a color of your choice, adding additional pockets or embellishment of your choice.
Basic changes, such as changing a zipper or a button, we are of course happy to do.
